The true colors came shining through when he described repeatedly screwing somebody who offered him something for FREE, and felt this was a hillarious bit worth sharing with all of us. Just as he was waiting for everyone here to have a circle-jerk of joy because somebody died and had money.

Hey OnRamp-

Read this bit about SOCIOPATHS.

Now, put your 'undeniable logic' to work on that.

Sociopath.

I have made it a rule that when somebody on Pelican says something I find patently offensive, I immediately put them on my ignore list. I am sorry to say that On-ramp is now on my ignore list.

Jeez guys, maybe OR just got up on the wrong side of the keyboard. Yes, it was a completely idiotic, immature, and insensitive post....but let's not push him off the bridge! He's still a Pelican for heaven's sake.

Fosset has always impressed me as being the kind of person that would find any possible way to live life to its fullest. Damn the torpedos. Even with his money, I don't think I could do it. An inspirational and fascinating guy.

Godspeed Steve.

When he did the Global Flyer, their HQ for the mission was Salina, KS, as I'm sure many of you remember. The Salina airport has the Kansas State University School of Aviation, where they do pilot and mechanic training. They allowed the students to work with their team, and he spent a good amount of time interacting with the students. Every report was that he was an incredibly normal, down-to-earth guy, that was more than willing to take time out of his day to talk with the students.

That is amazing...I have participated in a few over land few search and rescues, very difficult, even in a helicopter.

By saying you don't care you DO CARE especially since you started a post about it.

At least fatpaste had some intelligent comments periodically.

This was a ridiculous post from the start.

I'm intrigued that in on ramp's post on his motorcycle endeavor, no one wished him ill will and yet he is wishing the worst on Steve Fossett, someone he doesn't even know. Where does this anger come from?

It has not logic.

Having a keyboard and an internet connection doesn't make anybody anything. In this case, he doesn't deserve to be in the human race, which takes precedent over being "a Pelican".

you guys are being too hard on on-ramp. He's not evil or anything. He's just very dumb. He's trying, but his below average intelligence, combined with a high level of social ineptness and awkwardness, make it tough going for him.

Jeez, I sort of feel sorry for you. Always looking for the bad in people. Your life must really suck. "Scottie, set phasers to stun, on-ramp to ignore, and send him a foil hat so the helicopters won't bother him anymore".

Sure you do. You get rich by providing goods and services that benefit others. It's called trade. It's the basis of modern civilization. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Bill Gates. They all became fabulously wealthy. And our world is profoundly improved because of their efforts.

You are one angry, sad little man. How miserable your life must be.

BTW, I think that you are a bit too "enlightened" for this crowd. Perhaps you should take your mission work elsewhere?

I wouldn't exactly categorize running a sweat shop of stock traders as benefiting people. He was just a commodities broker. made millions to benefit his own egotistical adventures.
