Fosset has always impressed me as being the kind of person that would find any possible way to live life to its fullest. Damn the torpedos. Even with his money, I don't think I could do it. An inspirational and fascinating guy.

When he did the Global Flyer, their HQ for the mission was Salina, KS, as I'm sure many of you remember. The Salina airport has the Kansas State University School of Aviation, where they do pilot and mechanic training. They allowed the students to work with their team, and he spent a good amount of time interacting with the students. Every report was that he was an incredibly normal, down-to-earth guy, that was more than willing to take time out of his day to talk with the students.
