Dear Motion
"I am used to dressing nicely in Orange County - you have to in high end joints, but here it brings on a new meaning. Most men are wearing sport coats with slacks (not jeans) and 90% of the women look like they just sprang from a Vogue spread. My little Kayla ALWAYS dresses to the hilt when leaving the house, even in Red Lodge, MT, where the reaction she gets from the average person is just plain comical." Motion
Motion you just kind of rub me the wrong way. It seems like your dazzled by all the bright lights that Balboa, New Port and Laguna Niguel shine in your eyes. Your a small town kid and it seems to have gone to your head. I grew up in S CA, and I'm not impressed by OC. When I was a kid I was better dressed than 100% of the people on this Board, I had a Rolls Royce. My attitude is big fking deal. I would rather have my F150. I'm not impressed with people who have multi-million $$$ homes, have 2 new MBs in the garage and have a sofa and TV for furniture in their house. I know you have seen that Motion. I had a friend that opened an Art Gallery on Balboa Island. They featured REAL ART by a variety of CA and East Coast Artists in the $2500 to $20,000 range (Emil Kosa Jr). Stuff that has appreciated nicely. He went out of business, because they couldn't compete with the so-called Art Gallery that was featuring Signed Lithos as real art...like Thomas Kincaid or even Evynd Earles. OC is a vasst intellectual wasteland populated by yuppies who are more concerned with keeping up appearences than substance. You might say its a HOLLOW CULTURE...in other words its FAKE. |
oh Tabs, quit yer B_I_T_C_H_in'
Jk We love you....now post some darn food recipes. |
It is not as simple as naming enclaves of SoCal. Things can change and they do. Compare the St Regis in Monarch Beach with another fine hotel just 1 mile south on PCH. Two wholly separate worlds. A distinguished lady or gentleman knows the rules when passing the brass on the wall.

The last word I would use for Motion is fake. He is a nice guy that has done well for himself.

Can I say panties in a bunch or sand in your vagina here?
How about a picture of Kayla in a nice red dress or something |

If prosperity is available it will attract materialistic people, and they will have some influence on others around them. But, there are lots of people in OC that are not like that at all. If fact I've heard they have millionaires that drive pick-up trucks and wear hawaiian shirts, shorts and sandals. |

There is substance down in OC...Joan Irvine and her museum are down in Laugna Beach...Redfern Gallery is there. There was the Sawdust Festival in Laguna which featured the S CA Plein Aire painters...if only I had been awake back in those days. But by and large its the immigrants to S CA that think they have arrived...the old timers know better. Ohhh and when PWD sees this he is gona chew me up...:D |

It's coming up on the Holiday Party time of the year, so please don't go out of your way to piss off Motion. In another discussion, we wondered whether Byron or 325 had the hottest personal life. Based on the body of evidence I have reviewed, those guys are in the minor leagues whacking off with JC Penneys catalogues compared to Motion who is managing a Major League 'ball' club.
Bring on the pics, Motion. Show these guys who the real champ is. |

Walter Emeic...guy used to dress in Thrift Store Chic..drive an old Chevy pickup and was worth anywhere from 20M to 200M depending upon who you talked to. He owned a Horse Farm in Kentucky, Ranch in Simi-Valley, Al Jolsons house in the valley and a whole bunch of Warehouses in LA. |

Laguna Beach? how long has it been since you were there?
it's ....... changed. You could almost call it laguna frisco now. |
Sammy its bin a long time...There has been a substantial Gay population in Laguna for decades. I talkin back in the 50s & 60s.
My neighbors when I was growin up (1971) built a house in 3 Arch Bay..took em a LONG time to sell it for $110,000.00. They made alot of money by buying Cottages on Balboa Island in the 60s, tearing them down and building duplexs. Which they then turned to do the next one. |
Maybe I'm gripin because I saw it all back in the day when there was nothin but shacks on the beach. Now MBs are Newport Beach Chevys. It seems like its all done to impress how large your livin now that you have arrived in paradise. So a guy freezin his a$$ off in Cincinnati or NJ just drools at the mouth thinkin about a Bay Watch existence. HOwever the reality is no matter where U live, U take a dump in the mornining. I OC they just use perfume to cover the odor.

Just live the heavyset Americans on the other thread - we as a nation have pretty much turned into slobs - in our size, manner and dress. |

i was modeling in fashion shows as a young'n no way you were better dressed then i was, only reason Brad Pitt made it to where he is now, is cause i was afraid of becoming one of those people who can't handle the fame and fortune... and opted out. :D |
Perhaps, Tabs, if you have elevated yourself to such a higher plane of thinking, you can take a microsecond of your time and utilize a small portion of your Einsteinian intellect and learn how to use your "ignore" list. Welcome to the internet.
But, if you authored this thread simply for sport, then Play on, Pele´. |
