MFAFF,
And after Renault are fined way less than McLaren are, I cannot wait to see the lawsuits for the same or equal treatment from McLaren, something that they have not been getting in the past. We know its coming and the FIA and Mosley will provide it. Just hope that McLaren takes it to a civil court and wins, forcing Mosley to retire. We, and all of Formula One deserve better than what we were given this last season.

Afternoon Joe,
Still this side of the water? It would be nice to have F1 without Max in the picture.. but I'd not hold my breath about Bernie not putting another of his puppets in place. As for getting the fine reduced.....as its a deduction from money that would have been credited to their account, for transport etc I'm not certain how difficult it will be to get it 'changed'......by unilateral proposal by the FIA....and McLaren will accept the deal.....imagine tho if Renault's points are not changed.... I'd imagine McLaren might have a few words about that...... |

So maybe Max Moseley isn't the devil incarnate?

Yes, still over here. Did not see your post until today. In CH now and on to Moscow tonight. It may be a deduction of monies received but still it cost McLaren somewhere. Art, Sorry but MM is behind a lot of this. You notice that Renault has not gotten anywhere near the press nor fine that McLaren did, nor did MM say that he would drop the charges if Flavio resigned, something that he did with Ron Dennis. I am not a big fan of Ron Dennis but he is the head of McLaren and MM has no right to say anything like he did in this matter. Asking for the resignation of any owner is far overstepping his bounds IMHO and really shows that this was a witch hunt against Ron Dennis and McLaren and not "fair and equal treatment" by MM and the FIA.

PS BBC just reported here in Europe that after the public apology by McLaren that MM has requested that the Feb meeting to discuss McLaren's 2008 season be canceled.
Might it be that the FIA and MM have gotten a whole lot of comments from the racing public that they are tired of this and end it or we will stop going to your races? Sure hope so...

Morning Joe,
You wouldn't be in Samaden now would you? Great airport...pure flying. The apology is great...the show can go on. However it leaves a very bad taste.... both the FIA and the team generally (not just McLaren) need to review the issue of information going from one to another...either by employees leaving (see the Ferrai team member who went from Ferrari to McLAren for a couple of seasons and then back ) as well a employees 'CV' material and the more overt 'spying'... As in all design based industries it happens, it is part of the basis no which you hire people, so either you accept that cross fertilisation occurs and even 'spying' or you try to stamp it out...what's the betting that the design philosophy of the new Hondas will be very close to that of the Ferraris...afterall Ross Brawn is instigator of both.. .should one be banned.. Later gotta catch a train... |

MFAFF,
Agree and they are on a slippery slope with this... St. Moritz is nice this time of year and not that crowded now. Give it a week and its going to start getting full. Samadan is a bear of an airport but its the only way to get in her other than drive! Joe
