The worst part about photos of sunrises and sunsets is that the photos never do them justice.
There are some really fantastic pics of sunsets in this thread, and I've taken great pics of sunrises and sunsets, and I know that whether you were using film or digital, IME, you always lose a little something, whether it be due to the decreased dynamic range compared to our eyes or the color doesn't come out quite right or the fact that a photo just can't compare to how our eyes take things in. The worst is when the sunset seems to include everything from yellow through orange, red, purple/violet, pinks, and even blues, but then the photo only has about half of the colors that you saw in person.

I know the thread title specifies sunsets, but I Stepped outside one morning and saw this gorgeous sunrise. Not surprisingly, the in-person colors were much more vivid.
