How about a moonset? I took this shot at dawn yesterday from about 9500 feet in Avalanche Gulch on Mt. Shasta. I left camp at 3:45 AM and was treated to this. I didn't make it to the summit. A 6000-foot climb to over 14,000 feet proved to be too much for me. Besides the wind was blowing at 80 mph at the top. The moonset was worth the effort, though.

Don't have a pic to post, but I'm with the OP (from Tucson). I've been all over, and I have to say the sunsets we have here (especially in the summer) can be truly breathtaking. Not every night, but enough nights to make it really cool.
