Ski Pennsylvania?
My wife wants to take a ski trip with some friends, and collective kids to Pennsylvania. I have skied Seven Springs several times. The other dad has skied Camelback. Which is a better destination? Is there a better alternative?
These are both about 8.5hrs from home.

If you go a little further north, you'll get to Elk.

Snowshoe WV has better elevations and more snow. It's closer too. I've skied Seven Springs since High school. Its good for beginners and those that want to have fun with their kids and not get scared. If you go skiing out west once, you will never go back there.

I have skied Snowshoe, and I felt that the trails were narrow, and crowded. Too many people peering over the edge trying to get up the nerve.
I would love to go out west, but that won't be this trip. Vermont is just too far. I grew up skiing those mountains. So what about Elk? Is it worth the extra travel?

I've been there a few times, we like to snowboard, the trails are wide and long, there's usually plenty of snow and not too many people, so no major lines at the lift. You still have to watch the kids though. If you haven't been there yet, it would be worth trying it out.

If the choices are camelback or seven springs only, I would go to seven springs, there is more to do in the lodge complex after skiing--bowling, arcades, restaurants, etc.
