If you make 10x what I do, you should pay exactly 10x as much in taxes through a flat tax. Why should renters subsidize homeowners? Why should I be forced to subsidize people who decided to have kids? There should be no deductions. The founding fathers never intended for the gov't. to get into the wealth redistribution business and certainly not into the business of trying to control people's behavior through varying tax rates and loopholes. It's criminal.
I just did a quick check on Fairfax and Loudon counties and the average single family home price was around $510K. Sure seems like $250K would be a nice "down apyment."

But, you might live in a not so average neighborhood.

Mr. Half Honky, All Donkey has never held a real job, he has no clue about running a business or earning a PAYCHECK, AS all he has done is nurse off the liberal tit, at the tax payers expense!!!! Only a fool would vote for him, but then again, if only 6% of the US really makes over $97K a year, there are many of them!!!
Yeah, just look how great the Yale grad who ran TX has done for us over the past 7 years. My grand kids gerbil could have done just about as well!

BTW, rich is a relative term, and mere millions isn't what constitutes rich in the Republican playbook. I believe GWB refers to them as ''The Ruling Elite''.

Guess what. They Are. IMO, allowing corporate America to regulate itself isn't such a wise idea. A lot of money can be made by overlooking things such as clean air or water, ethics, or the economic health of The United States of America. The rich are getting Much Richer, and the economy is not so sweet.

To say you are against social and fiscal responsibility for short term economic gain is a little short sighted. The Democrats are not gunning for you. And the fact that you think they are means that you are buying into some serious rumours started by people who are selling you down the river for their own benefit. Not exactly the blind leading the blind, but you are being suckered.
Good God man, I'm older than 8.

Bill was downright conservative compared to the current lot. Other than liking BJs a bit too much, he did a decent job.

You, right here in this thread, epitomize the problem. You speak of these "ruling elite", and your desire to punish them. It's pretty much been the favorite Dem line of the campaign, what with "Two Americas", etc. But while you get your indoctrinated supporters riled up with such talk, you fail to mention that your entitlement plans will impact MANY WHO ARE NOT RICH. All of their plans for health care, free savings accounts, etc will be funded out of the pockets of those whom are not by any means wealthy. All of the plans have ceilings for the benefits, all of the plans have floors where the extra taxes start. Most of them are at a level that would impact a good number of average folks.

Furthermore, and I repeat this often, who do you hurt when you overtax the wealthy business owners and corporations? Do you think it comes out of their profits? You raise taxes, businesses make cuts. Cuts = layoffs. Of course, this just means the plan comes full circle, because you have more Americans sucking at the government's teet.

Social and economic responsibility??? Is that how you classify welfare? Removing the incentive to work, insuring that the most depressed segments of society stay that way? All the current Dem plans do is expand the welfare state, adding even more residents content to live off of the government. You do realize that in order for this country to survive, SOMEBODY has to work. After all, there has to be somebody for you to tax.

I said during the boom. You realize, of course, Loudoun sales are almost all condos and townhouses, probably the majority of Fairfax ones too. The real houses were considerably more and still are.
