Seeing people working on projects like this is one of the many reasons I love this site. Cannot wait to see your progress! This is awesome.

One of my crazy ideas is to turn one of these (below) into an amphibious vehicle (I figure a midengine would offer the best balance and don't have the heart to do it to a boxster). Practical, no; would a boat be better, probably; fun, absolutely! Unfortunately, my other projects: the basement, the porsche, the garage and the family come first...

If you love crazy projects, you'll probably like my supercharged Briggs V-twin in a golf cart...

You're not that far away from me. We are a bunch of golf cart freaks up here. Let me know if I can help. If you need any more golf cart rims, or Briggs parts, or another transaxle for the tank, let me know, I have a few here.

I'm good friends with the two dudes that designed this, its an awesome car, only lacked the right amount of investment to make it reliable.

The Caparo T1, 1000bhp/ton but build around the sweet spot of 500bhp in 500kg

It broke the Top Gear lap record but was not included as the producers threw in a late minute speed bump challenge.

They added a lift system but weren't allowed to run again as it was quicker the Bugatti Veyron etc

The producers did not "throw in" a late minute speed bump challenge. In fact, the requirement for any lap record car to be able to drive over a standard British speed bump has been in effect since episode one of the show. Many cars have broken the lap record, only to be disallowed on such grounds.

Still a very cool car, the Caparo.

Anyway. Hello everyone. Here's a photo of my Hawk Strato's replica taken on a parade lap of Silverstone. I sold her a couple of months ago as I have a hankering for a 964 targa.
