I know all about those as i l9aded container ships, having to throw those up on the box before you set them.

Sometimes these "interbox connectors" are left loose on the deck of the railroad container cars or on top of one of the containers. Rough track can cause them to fall off. I was inside a railroad interlocker tower when one fell off a passing train and hit the side of the building. Sounded like a bowling ball hit the wall.

Cool - old pictures from Reno (or Mojave). I got to meet Darry Greenmyer once while he was doing some flight testing in an F-104 with the Navy. The test pilot school at Pax river would send students to him and he fly with them in a two seat F-104 while they wrung it out.
