Moto Guzzi, V twin engine as opposed to a flat twin boxer motor like a BMW/VW/Porsche.

Shaft drive.....that looks like the style that was popular as a Police bike....

I went back just now and they're gone. The house is empty, so I'm guessing the bikes and the big pile of parts were left behind. Someone made out like a bandit.
