I was not sure of the model, either. Just that it was a Spitfire.

I had some Sea Fury pictures from Oshkosh but they are on my dead hard drive. Some day I will come up with the money to have the data recovered.

Probably a XIV.
From the Malta Aviation Museum site:
"The Mk.XIV was the most important Spitfire in the final year of World War 2. It had a two-stage Griffon engine delivering 2,050-hp and driving a five bladed propeller. The airframe was redesigned and strengthened with symmetric deep radiators, broad tail and often a teardrop canopy. A total of 957 of these aircraft were built. "



This one is an older mark, taken at the Battle Of Britain flight July 2010

When I look at the spitfire and a number of these earlier planes, I often wonder how common prop strikes were due to how big the prop was and how little clearance when landing...grant it, I have never landed a tail dragger so I suppose some of the mystery could be removed if I did.
