This was demonstrated by the Air Force in 1947 when a single F-82 rigged with fuel pods flew non-stop from Hawaii to New York — a distance of more than 5,000 miles. The Feb. 27 voyage, which took just over 14 hours to complete, still holds the world record for the longest non-stop distance travelled by a piston-engine fighter.

Could refuel 3 fighters at a time, one on each wing pod and one on the tail.

Didn't know there were any flyable planes left... there are only a few total.

(Edit - 5 according to wiki, none flying)
Yes current pic. Found online.

It appears the U.S. has quietly stopped trying to make "stealth ships" and this might be the reason why? It appears they just are not stealthy at all!

A few photos a high tech HSV of the UAE supporting the Saudi-led coalition
against Iranian-puppet Huthis in Yemen, after it was hit by an Anti-ship missile
off the Red Sea port of Al-Mokha near the Bab al-Mandab strait.
This is the former USN HSV-2 Swift, sold to the UAE.

Breakfast with our daughter last Sunday in San Diego.

Nice that the Navy made it interesting:

USS TR (CVN 71)

USS New Orleans (LPD 18)

Even the Marines joined in the fun:

High Speed Vehicle transports were designed to be fast, not stealthy. That thing would look like a barn door to radar.

Almost as bad as this thing.

And yet it still floats, never sank?

I trust this provided the crew time to disembark before the fire took over.

The remarkable looking Bisiluro Damolnar was created in 1955 by Carlo Mollino and Enrico Nardi, their goal was to create an ultra-light, aerodynamic car to compete at Le Mans alongside the much larger and far better funded factory teams like Jaguar and Ferrari.

Interesting room/wall too.
