Billet everything- yuck.
The 50s were a bit before my time, and the only guy I know who was really active then was my friend George Montgomery. He took pains to make his cars neat, even if he didn’t have money for a lot of chrome or great paint.

No, just confused. I don't see why people go to the trouble of making a car look stupid just because it's the latest craze.

Im ok with rat rods. they are cheaper and faster to build and you dont need the skill and tools to do nice body work. But I hate the slammed look. They even do it with drag cars now. Id rather have the 70s rake with huge tires sticking out in the back its a much meaner look.

I have to agree. I am so tired of the stupid oversized wheels and slammed to ground look. I have little doubt that in some near future date people will be taking all the Camaros with 24 inch tires and slammed suspension, and restoring them to factory looking.

Rat rods are a different thing entirely. Some have some real creativity, and craftsmanship. Some are just POS junkers that are just a me too thing.

Get off my lawn!

Good taste and a fair amount of discretionary income frequently do not go hand-in-hand.......
