After the war P-38s were cheep....not a dime a dozen but.....1250 bucks each... full of av gas with practically no time on em'. The line of buyers was short.

stumbled in to this collection in Minnesota a few years ago...WOW.
Fagen Fighters & Warhawks, Inc. - Pilots Last time I went past, I noticed the new hangar and thought to myself, that thing looks solid...sure enough, it's tornado "proof". There is a lot of money sitting out there...a long way from any big town. |

I could be wrong, but aren't these those bombers made of laminated wood? Very hard to recycle.

Mosquito's had a lot of wood in them...not aware of any other allied WWII aircraft w/ remarkable volumes of wood.
