A Mathews, yea, in the 70s, the sport was new, I had one then.



And have a set of NOS magnesium forks & a rough frame,, but would love a survivor like the one posted, for a bit over a cool Grand I could own it...

I collect bikes on and off, springers, anything banana seat if the price is right.

But I still don't understand paying 500 -1000 plus for a bikes an adult just should not ride anymore. I remember spending 180 on a springer stringray, then bring it home thinking, oh great now what. Lucky my kid was still young enough to ride it. It sitting in the basement wanting for grand kids. But ever since I never pay over a 100 bucks for a older bike.......Of course, that would be different if I stumbled on a some rarer type, but that has just not happen yet.

Interesting. The 2009 Road and Track article said that four webbers are the current configuration.

Looks like some other significant changes were also made. I guess that happens with race-cars, though.

Of course, I guess it's also possible that R&T could have slipped in the wrong photo. I don't see any fenders in this photo, and it looks like the engine is in a black car.

Additionally, those look like small block Chevy valve covers.
