Looks like a torpedo bomber, but none of the ones I'm familiar with.

Hint:
The manufacturer made two-three early turds but came up smelling roses when they 'helped' with the Corsair a very successfull WWII AND Korean era fighter. Longest running fighter production....the Gull wing was designed to allow clearance for the big ass prop. Why didn't they just make the landing gear taller? Later they had some issues....including getting sued for 10 mill....lotta bucks back then, two wanker sales reps went to jail.

![]() Notice the unique bomb release device as this was a dive bomber. The fork or "trapeze" would swing the bomb clear of the aircraft during a dive. Last edited by abisel; 05-13-2012 at 08:58 AM.. |

It's a Brewster aircraft....maker of the Flying Coffin, Buffalo. The Buff helped absorb a lot of Japanese munitions while trying to defend Midway. Most never made it back to base.
Yes, torpedo bomber but most pilots cussed it out..... Brewster Bermuda or Buccaneer....another version of low bidders. Some idiot in the war departement allowed them to build the Corsair under contract.
