Prop and bottom looks clean but the engine is torqued....or did you impact that tree. doesn't look like the intial landing was rough, where all the injures sustain at the end? I'm guessing this was not a run off, because the tires look good. Little longer field and you might have gotten away clean. glad to see your OK

I know, I don't recall seeing one before. It is beautiful. I know it is called a 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Coachcraft Coupe-3. I am still looking. I think it was just a custom car for Hollywood but I am still looking, post anything you find.

Neither do I, a Honda+Plane+motorcycle doesn't add up to safety and the paint that blends in doesn't help either..

I thought is was funny since a few pages back was another old 3 wheeler making the same claims. Starting with 3 WRECKED vehicles isn't the safest start either..

Power up and roll out in blue.
Dashed blue indicates flying, attempting to climb. Rate of climb was insufficient to clear trees, and pilot elected to abort. Red dashed line indicates throttle back, flaring to land. Unfortunately, that field has rising terrain, and we pancaked hard. So hard that the left strut is now protruding through the top of the wing. This initial impact caused the spinal compression. Airplane rolled to the tree line where it impacted a tree - causing secondary injuries.

You can see in that earlier picture where the tree impacted the spinner, the right front cylinder, and on back to the wing root. Intrusion into the cockpit at this point is what trapped and twisted my right ankle.

Again, the investigation is underway and I am not inclined to tell everything I know until it is complete. The blue and red lines on the image above are approximated, to the best of my memory.

Gustave Whitehead - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to an affidavit given in 1934 by Louis Darvarich, a friend of Whitehead, the two men made a motorized flight together of about half a mile in Pittsburgh's Schenley Park in April or May 1899. Darvarich said they flew at a height of 20 to 25 ft (6.1 to 7.6 m) in a steam-powered monoplane aircraft and crashed into a brick building. Darvarich said he was stoking the boiler aboard the craft and was badly scalded in the accident, requiring several weeks in a hospital.[22] Reportedly because of this incident, Whitehead was forbidden by the police to perform any more experiments in Pittsburgh.
