I believe that the old "hit the pit wall" mistake happened here. Real beginners mistake. Guy came out of that turn too far of the right and put two wheels off / into the gravel. Instead of staying straight with two wheels off, slowing down and going back on in a controlled matter, the guy forced it back. When you try to force it, the steering input will be too much, once the off wheel hits the pavement again and grips. You will immediately be sent to the other side (the left) in this case. This is also often where the pit wall is on race tracks. There usually are a series of skid marks that look just like the ones we witness in this video. Seems to happen often next to the pit wall, because the turn leading into the front straight is crucial for good lap times.
Likely the tow truck driver was tipped real well to get it out of there ASAP. It was a Sunday drive, but nobody says you can't be without a license, drunk or on drugs on Sundays.
