It was in English (British English) here in L.A. It doesn't matter, really. No matter the language, just turn down the sound. The action is what counts.

I still enjoyed it, but good commentary is always appreciated. If the commentary sucks, then I can turn down the sound. Seems odd that LA would be in English and SF (well, Half Moon Bay) would be in Spanish.

It was a good game and the best team in the competition won.
Refreshing was seeing Spanish and German people celebrating together. Scenes from Berlin and the rest of Germany showed people happy and in a festive mood. In Europe (as opposed to America) we have had some big problems with incidents after important football matches between rival supporters. It was a joy to see everybody drinking and singing together. |

Thanks guys. Things here are a bit crazy. TV share for the game was near 80% and there have been celebrations all over the country. Even though Spain is one of the top soccer teams, we had failed to get past the last 8 for more than 20 years, losing to inferior teams like Belgium or Korea.
The last time we got to the final was in 1984 when we lost to France. France's star was Michael Platini who is now the presidento of the Euro soccer federation. Platini scored a goal in that final and yesterday our reserve goalkeeper wore the same shirt as our goalkeeper in 1984 when he went to get his medal from Platini himself. Pretty emotional moment!!!

Only England has a more pathetic (used in a tough luck sort of way) recent history in international tourneys.
Glad to see Spain finally break through. That goal just keeps going off in my head - a classic. Platini with the ENF and Juventus - still have a few great images from back then as well. He could sure bend that ball.
