TomTomBlows.

My Uncle delivers expedited loads for a living and the TomTom got ReturnedReturned as soon as I let him borrow my Nuvi for comparison.

Whatever you get check for bluetooth and the traffic updates feature.

My coworker loves hers, I think it is a Garmen.

I check with her when she gets into the office.

Oddly, being a technoboy this is one gadget I have resisted.

I'm test driving the Tom Tom tomorrow.

Got it set on French, to get in the mood for Europe.

If you're taking it to Europe then the TomTom may be better. It's my understanding that it is catered to the European market and the U.S. is secondary where as Garmin is U.S. based and therefore reversed.

I bought the Tom Tom for that feature. It comes preloaded with all of North America and Western Europe.

In addition Juliette, from the French menu, sounds just like a seriously hot girlfriend from my university days. Love those commands!

I have one... the wife bought it for me for Christmas. I travel a lot in my work to various places that ALWAYS gets me lost looking for street signs.

It worked great until one day it started freaking out - it acted like someone was pushing the on-screen buttons on crack. It got me lost about three times sending me to police stations and post offices. I finally was about ready to take it back to the store when I thought I'd try something novel... I'd call them.

They got back to me... had me download a klugy fix, but it worked. It has worked perfectly ever since. I really like the voice prompting - once you set it, forget it. It tells you where to turn, to stay in the right lane for an upcoming turn, etc. Really nice.

The real bummer about it - is the bluetooth. In CA we have to have hands-free cels so that's why the wife spent so much on it... it comes with Bluetooth built-in... unfortuantely it doesn't work very well in my Jeep Grande Cherokee or the Porsches - too loud. So I don't use the BT feature at all now.

All in all - I'd buy one again - without Bluetooth. BTW the wife saved quite a bit by buying it at Costco. YMMV.

I have a Tom Tom Go, they are pretty tuff. I have thrown it across the car and so has my wife. It still works, so I guess they planned for this type of abuse.
