Instead of wasting so much energy either trying to win him over or cast him to the lions, I suggest you simply deal with him on a professional level. Only deal with him when your duties mandate it, and make the exchange sterile.

Some people are eccentric and will never join the team. There is more to the story in the relationship between the problem and the boss. If you felt like exerting the energy, it may be worth your time to find out.

Once again, just trying to be straight with you. I know you posted and think that you are exhibiting bright smiles and winning ways...and no one could help but like you, but maybe the guy just thinks you are sexually harrassing him and don't pull your share of the load (you admitted that you tend to blow off the boring, administrive crap that no one else likes to do...much less pick up someone else's share. Your politics and dress would make you very unpopular in most workplaces that I have experienced. Assuming you are not totally different at work than you seem to be on this BBS. I guarantee you than there are few businesses that would hire or retain a middle aged man who cross dresses and posts the photos on the internet.
