That mantle is a piece of vertical grain Fir stained dark with a few semi-gloss clear coats on top. I am not sure if I have another picture of it, but will try and find something later today for you. I try to be good with photographs on all home remodels we rebuilt for sale. Most of these are completely gutted from one end to the other. New owners like that and they have a record of things both before and after. other then that, I really do not take pictures of projects we complete for clients.

Nope. They're not done yet. Actually, they assured me back in Dec that they'd be done by today. LOL. I'm going to give them a drop dead date and manage them to completion.

Yes it is. Servery window into the dining room. Benches are granite.

Thanks for the pics, Jeff. In the earlier pic, when I first commented on the mantle, the light reflecting off the mantle's edge made me think it was a lighter color, or maybe even metallic.
