Well, as it shows and the wind kicks in, the snow collects along your house. For some reason, it always build up in front of the garage.

So 18" of snow fall, might cause 4 feet of drift that you need to clear from the garage door to get your car out. Yes, what does not kill you makes you stronger.... sure, what ever....

My outside thermometer says 36, but it is affected by the house.

My kids found a coconut when we were on the boat yesterday. Too cold for shorts though.

We had 2" of snow followed by a freezing rain ice storm a couple days ago.... the ice accumulation alone brought down a few branches but the power stayed on. We awoke Sunday morning however to howling winds and ice and branches hitting our house from the trees. The power was out and we have electric heat. At 6:00 am, the house was starting to get cold, so I got up and thought I would go out and bring the generator up to the house to try and run a room or two of electric heat.... -2 degrees F with winds gusting to 35 mph.... NOT GOOD! Well the generator would not run but thankfully the power came back on at noon.

I cannot even imagine how bad it would have been to work for the local power company yesterday with the ice, wind and subzero temps.

Al Gore and his global warming can kiss my frozen @ss!

LOL, this sounds familiar. A co-worker was complaining this morning that he didn't want to go outside because it was 50 degrees and drizzling.

I pulled up the weather report for Mandan, ND where we also have a refinery. It said minus 10 degrees, and it feels like minus 31 defrees F.

He stopped complaining and went out to the operating units.

I didn't mention that I stayed in the office I really cannot imagine living and working in that kind of weather.
It's up to about 55 outside now and that's still too cold to go out there.

It was 25 this morning in Fort Worth. I was friggin COLD. But it could be worse.. I could be in Ohio where I used to live. Last time I looked it was snowing buckets there.

We are supposed to be back to 70 degrees by Christmas Day.

Texas.. where you can have all 4 seasons during the same week!
