Really cool story, Angela. Lump in my throat. Honestly.....for all our faults, men can be intensely redemptive. We have the capability and sometimes the inclination to entirely set aside our self-interest to focus our entire being on another person or an ideal. Your father is a clear example of the potential majesty of an ordinary man through selfless pursuit of duty and honor.
We would be interested in following this story, and perhap seeing a picture of your dad. Indeed, someone should be manning a camera at the moment he is presented with this gift. It could wind up being the most powerful photograph of your life, Angela.

You guys are great ...
Hey I didn't mean to high jack this thread... Any human being who uses a child in a relationship as a pawn - a point of manipulation - is absolutely disgusting. They are completely repulsive... When their dirty deeds come to light (as they inevitably do), the thing to do is to seperate the rotten adult actions from the innocent child. A good man's love for a child is not based on whether the kid looks like him or not. It's based on a bond that grows stronger every day and can never be broken. The heart of a child is powerful but fragile thing. Hold it gently and never let go. angela
