Backpackers Beware

Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. I don't think this boy would be impressed by your little warning bells or your pepper spray...

The sad thing is that beautiful beast was probably having a great life minding it's own business until those two guys came along with some sort of inadequacy complex.

nostatic 03-20-2009 12:44 PM

ay carumba! Oso grande!

Fishman7 03-20-2009 12:49 PM

Eat or be eaten, I don't hunt but don't have a problem with safe and ethical hunting practices.

I was waiting for the first tree-hugging bambiist to post...

You are aware grizzly bears are known to feed on humans right? Survival of the fittest. Jeff was fitter than the bear.

Hey Bill, i laughed when Bambi's mommy got shot. ;)

vash 03-20-2009 12:51 PM

aye dio mio!!! that is a very big bear.

i just finished reading a magazine article about how hunting will save the grizzly. 1st is the revenue generated; but you have to keep it sustainable and managed.

but the bigger part: it will put the fear of humans back into the beast. apparently, the largest portion of dead bears are the ones that keep coming into neighborhoods for the easy food. garbage, people garage fridges, etc. they kill alot of bears that dont get the message.

me? i couldnt do it.

slakjaw 03-20-2009 12:51 PM

Some people would rather see the bears starve to death I guess.

Rikao4 03-20-2009 12:53 PM

Rick Lee 03-20-2009 12:54 PM

What's fair about a bear sitting back on the side of a trail waiting for some poor jogger to run by so it can eat him?

There is nothing fair about nature. Jeez, i hear Kum by yah playing!

billwagnon 03-20-2009 12:57 PM

Rikao4 03-20-2009 12:58 PM

Rika

billwagnon 03-20-2009 12:58 PM

As long as we are keeping the joggers safe from deadly behemoths, can we do something about the SUVs too??? :p

Besides having it stuffed or mounted or a pelt made, one can rest well knowing it won't be killing any people.
