RPKESQ was obviously upset by something explicit or implicit in a post. Some of you guys did not handle that well.

I also do not need to hear any of you knocking SF.

RWebb 03-22-2009 03:27 PM

"If you have better statistics, post them."

- that wasn't the issue -- it was (likely) you using some terminology that means one thing -- my guess is you meant something else.

That would be my guess. We don't see what happened before the Elk took exception. I could see someone doing the, "oh how sweet, let's get a closer look at Bambi!"

When I was in Yosemite shooting (photos) last year I came across a couple of fawns and a young buck. One of them was messed up (bad leg). I stayed behind a tree and let them go their own way. I was in their house, so I tried to be the best guest I could.

As they told us in the Army over and over at the beginning of every field problem:

"Stay away from the wildlife."

That solves 99% of all problems before they ever happen i bet.

But some dumb**** Pvt ALWAYS gets bitten/stung/scratched/treed by a ******* boar because they figure it won't hurt to just check it out.

Elk have been walking all over Banff, AB since I can remember.
I have not heard of one incident involving the herd?

My cousin is a fireman there; any challenges have been people related, not elk, fwiw?

I have never met a real sniper in any country's military who touted his past supposed occupation like you do. I answered concerning my military experience when repeatedly asked. You wear it on your sleeve like the high school jock that won the big game and then never amounted to much.

I'd much rather be a sniper than a bleeding heart liberal frenchy. I'd rather be anything besides that.

Fishman7 03-22-2009 04:17 PM

I wonder how many animals were murdered so we could have leather interiors in our Porsche's? I am 100% confident that if people went to a slaughter house to see where there hamburgers and steaks come from and how they would think differently about hunters (not trophy/canned) in general. Ever see those chickens going down road in cages? They are not going to a nice country farm to retire, it murder I'm telling ya, murder! Oh ya just finished a nice steak for dinner.

911Rob 03-22-2009 04:22 PM

I happen to like m21snipers handle and if he is proud of his service; GOOD FOR HIM!

The guy is a good $hit in my books.
I thank him for his service and if you served your Country, thank-you too!

Yep.

I dressed down a couple privates one time during a field problem after i caught them chasing an armadillo around with fixed bayonets.

Fking idiots.

I made them fill and re-dig their fighting hole, since they had so much energy. Didn't have any more problems from them after that. ;)

Don't worry mate. it takes a lot more than these wankers to upset me. I actually had to spend time booking this years shooting trips.

I find it so humorous that although others on this thread agree 100% with what I stated as far as firearms, calibers and hunting ethics, I am the one singled out because: I spend time in France, I call them at their BS and I don't hesitate to confront them. I have great fun yanking their chains.

As for diaper, I would not trust that he wouldn't hurt himself with a spork, much less a firearm. His demonstrated expertise is nil. But his ego is writ large in his insecure babeling and posting.

Sammy is just a throw back to the McCarthy era. He still sees a commie in every shadow. In the real world people like Sammy are mostly lost and frightened.

It takes far more than serving in the military to be patriot. I am far more proud of what I have done since the military that what I did then. As should everyone.

m21sniper 03-22-2009 04:55 PM

This is the last time i'm ever going to address you directly.

As far as i'm concerned you are an outright fake and liar RPK. Just so we are clear on what we think about each other.

I think "pulling chains" AKA TROLLING is the only reason you're here.

You rarely add anything to a thread, you never start threads, you never back your claims with links or hard data, and if anyone questions you, you immediately start insulting them and babbling about your degrees.

You're just another troll AFAIC. And just as worthless as the rest.

Every claim i made in this thread that was contested i backed with links (and in some cases video). You however backed your claims with insults and arrogance.

Hence people standing up for me here, and openly mocking and/or insulting YOU.

But hey, why don't you go pluck some more turkey feathers out of the tails of living wild turkeys in the field....

Possible. My apologies for any ambiguity that may have resulted if that's the case.

* * *

That is b/c they are well behaved, civilized Canadian elk.

Altho, they are -- statistically speaking -- the most rightist type elk in Canada.

Yeah, but when they get a few Molsons in them....watch out!

RWebb 03-22-2009 05:32 PM

and a side note:

I find it entirely possible that we are witnessing an enlisted/officer spat here --- w/o any nasty chain of command issues to interfere. I don't know who was or is in what branch, pretends to be or was and pretends not to have been. But that could explain some of the political differences.

m21sniper 03-22-2009 05:42 PM

Me then

I don't see it that way, but interesting thought. I think it is how the message is delivered. Rank would have nothing to do with it, IMHO.

I can still hear the scream of one of the biggest guys in my BCT company as he broke a land speed record trying to get away from a boar. Those f'ers are mean as hell.

You should have just reminded them that armadillo's are the only other significant carrier of leprosy.

m21sniper 03-22-2009 07:59 PM

I didn't even know armadillos carry Leprosy! LOL.

I remember stories from the guys that served along the East-West border in Germany during the cold war about manning their post with 3 rounds of live 5.56 ammunition. They universally considered it to be issued for protection against Boars, not Bears(the Russian kind, haha).

Apparently there were some big 'uns along the border area, and these guys all had a very healthy respect for them. Even still a troop better aim damn good with an M-16, because the old 55gr M193 ammo in use at that time was certainly not ideal for taking down a charging Warthog. :D
