I have a couple of friends who own an old house (250+ yrs old) in Newport, RI. They're smart people -- he's a lawyer (after having been a Navy nuke), and she runs a chiropractor practice. They swear that they're house is haunted. Coming from anyone else, I'd question it, but these two are about the most solid down-to-earth people you'd ever hope to meet.

Me? I've never seen a ghost. If I do, I'd probably be less skeptic.

Dan

My aunt and uncle lived in a house where the previous owner had died. Strange stuff would happen. Pictures hung on the wall, large ones, would be found sitting on the couch in the morning. Upright, as if lifted and put into place. Footsteps, constantly missing objects(keys, books) other stuff.
They are pretty reliable straight forward people. They could not explain the stuff. I spent the night on the couch under the picture. Didn't sleep much.

All I know is that I was in a vicious will contest lawsuit, representing one of the sibling defendants. We had an all-day deposition session of the sibling plaintiff (who was suing her brothers and sisters over the estate). It was a Friday. Saturday night, literally in the middle of the night, my wife and I were awakened by a pounding sound in the hallway outside our bedroom. I got up to see what the hell was going on. I opened the door and saw the woman whom I had deposed the previous day standing in my hallway hitting the wall with her fist. In my house. I walked toward her and she was gone.

The following Monday I got a call from her lawyer. The plaintiff sibling who had been deposed the previous Friday had blown her head off with a shotgun the Saturday night following the depositions. The same night I saw her banging her fist on my hallway wall.

Still freaks me out.

I believe in the afterlife, but anything paranormal can be explained in this life

If you did not do all of these things in precise detail, then how in all rationality could you come to the logical conclusion that it was a ghost??????
