Yes, just got the latest version last week.

Rick V 06-02-2011 04:28 PM

Does that mean that you are currently slack?

slodave 06-02-2011 04:32 PM

I really want to cut ties with a client that is driving me nuts. Gave a quote back in Feb. nothing happens until a few weeks ago. Then they want things done yesterday. Nickel and dime everything. Ended up ordering cheap versions of Office that will never arrive - need to reverse the charges on that.

This one isn't fun. I'm in a bad mood.

Dave does Slackware support the GMA500 Intel video chip?

I had Ubuntu 10 working great and made the mistake of upgrading my Dell mini to 11 and the graphics are back to low res.

The word is that they are working on a fix, but nothing yet.

I would pay double to get back to 1024x800 graphics. ;)

I know that feeling. We have a client that wants a new flight after 4 years. They are squealing because we raised the price from 4 year ago! We told them this is the price, we will not do it at a loss. We are not a charity, and we don't need practice.

slodave 06-02-2011 04:45 PM

I don't know. I install it on older hardware and mostly headless. I know Slackware has evolved, but the install was not user friendly. But that was part of the fun!

Hey dave how did the great escape go. Made a comment on FB and I think the %$^#$ phone ate it.

slodave 06-02-2011 08:56 PM

Hospital security was on to me. Plus, I couldn't get the hospital bed through the back exit.

slodave 06-02-2011 08:57 PM

I'm going hunting tomorrow... Came back to my parents house and watched 11rats feeding at the bird feeders. I have a choice between a compound bow or .22 CB's.

Porsche-poor 06-02-2011 09:42 PM

Go with the bow. Neighbors will not hear it. Then again I want my @#$%# neighbors to move.

slodave 06-02-2011 09:47 PM

Dad kinda nixed the plan. :( I may bring my bow over tomorrow anyway though.

David, you see that link I posted on your FB wall with backing tracks for the guitar? I've not really been into picking up a guitar in the past few days, but I do want to give it a try. The tracks are not the original music, but seems close enough and good to practice to.

Porsche-poor 06-02-2011 09:57 PM

Yep saw it and sent along. Right now he is toying with his new play toy a mandolin. The wife got from friend.

slodave 06-02-2011 10:19 PM

Wouldn't ya know it. I forgot to bookmark the site... Found it from your wall. :)

Is he getting the hang of the mandolin?

slodave 06-02-2011 11:09 PM

Looks like D may have been correct. My mom is doing better, still in hospital, but hopefully will be home in a few days. If I hear it right, her aorta is shrinking a bit from age. This can and may be the cause of the fluid build up and shortness of breath. Surgery at this point does not look to be eminent, but I think the doctors are huddling together to try and figure out the best course of action. Soooo....... We'll see what the news is tomorrow.

Those are my choice of clothes today.

Did you try to bust your mom out of there? Or were you trying to steal a hospital bed??

slodave 06-02-2011 11:17 PM

Both!

Geronimo '74 06-02-2011 11:17 PM

Dave, that's good news, no? Could be a lot worse, I guess. (your mom feeling better, I mean)
)

slodave 06-02-2011 11:25 PM

I don't know. It's painful to see her walk a short distance and be out of breath. Like if you ran full bore up a few flights of stairs. She also says how she feels like crap. Looking into her via technology shows her to be improving. She may have to "retire" from her activities, which will devastate her. Time will tell. :)

Good morning, guys!

I hope your mom will feel better soon, Dave.
