Morning guys.

It was 35°C here yesterday, today will be the same but we'll also have hail as big as golfballs....

oh, and you asked for it:

for something the size of a mosquito bite, it was sure a day wrecker. i apologize in advance for any broken monitors, etc.

GH85Carrera 06-28-2011 12:17 PM

That looks like a blackberry attack :)

Geronimo '74 06-28-2011 12:33 PM

If that bite was any smaller you'd have to use the macro function of your camera :D:D But bite size is not related to level of itchyness, unfortunately.

For one or the other odd reason, I always react heavily to bee stings.
If it were me, they would have to cut the helmet in two to get it of my swollen mug... :D:D

A horsefly bit me in the back of my knee while I was out running yesterday. Itches like a motherffff and swells up really nicely.
I'd take a pic too but my hairy legs make all the pictures look out of focus... :D

I am almost allergic to bee and wasp stings. Somehow I've ended up getting stung every August for the last 6 years. Each time I get stung the reaction site gets bigger. Well, except for the last time. Time before last I got stung on the wrist and my arm up to my elbow got red and swoll up a bit. Last August I got stung on the top of my head and it didn't do much. Guess just didn't have enough flesh on the top of my head to react.

The really interesting bit is that my eyes go blurry and I can't focus for about 3 days after getting stung, Then for the next month I get 20/20 vision and don't need my regular prescription glasses at all. After that month goes back to my regular spectacles.

i keep getting stung about once a year by yellow jackets, sometimes twice or more, going on 10 years in a row. each time, the reaction is worse and lasts longer. that side of my neck is still sore and fatigued, although it is not itchy. little bastards.

er.... edit: stung vs stuck

Porsche-poor 06-28-2011 04:00 PM

More scrapes and pokes. Almost done. Nice bikes by the way.

nynor 06-28-2011 04:09 PM

thanks. i loved that triumph.... gods, what a PITA.

Howdy guys.

I try very hard to stay away from stinging insects. As a kid I was super allergic to them. A bee stung me on the finger and my entire arm swelled up like a balloon.

Don't blame you at all. I have a friend who has to carry one of those pens around just incase.

nynor 06-28-2011 08:37 PM

i'll be making an appointment with the dr. to see if need an epi pen. i hate going to the dr.

Porsche-poor 06-28-2011 08:40 PM

I would. never been bit that I know of. I guess its a wait and see thing. On the other hand the black berries have a new twist. The spot where I got stuck today are all bruises. I look like I have been shot up with a BB gun. Glad I am almost done.

slodave 06-28-2011 08:46 PM

I found out I'm not allergic to bee or bumble bee stings. Hurts when they first sting, then goes away after a couple of minutes.

Porsche-poor 06-28-2011 08:49 PM

that is a good thing.
Band camp progress has been made. 7/5 we meet the other kids and parents and find out who he is teamed up with and get a practice schedule.

On a more fun note another person got let go at work today, only one more and I will be next on the block.

nynor 06-28-2011 08:54 PM

CAD drafter, I draw pretty pictures for a living. Right now thre is not much call for what I do around here. I am the CAD manager where I work now but there is also only one more person in the CAD department, If he goes then it will be a toss up between myself and another mechanical designer.
