Our "normal" work hours are 7:30 to 4:30 but I always come in early.

That big customer I mentioned wanted to pick up the order today. Today I got here at 7:09 as usual and as I unlocked the front door he came driving up. I had not even made my coffeee yet and he was here. There was very little to talk about. I handed him the prints and DVD and he said thanks and left. Whew, working hard before I can get the coffee pot filled with water. I may have to take a nap now!

I just had lunch with an old buddy that I have not seen in years. We used to be involved in the astronomy club back when Haley's comet came by last time.

We have kept up in touch via email on occasion. I did not recognize him at first, he has doubled in size and no, he is not 11 feet tall. He parked his beat up 2001 Chevy Blazer next to my 1985 El Camino. He has driven the Blazer almost 150,000 miles and thought it was time to get a new car. I told him my car was well over twice as old and had double the miles on it and I have no plans to replace it.

At lunch I was worried he was going to ask me for money. He wanted to talk about Jesus! I was as polite as I could be under the circumstances. :cool:

Ugh, still confused with the older woman issue. There's definitely mutual interest, and she's made reference a few times to the fact that she would consider dating much younger if the right guy came along. There's just still the huge work issue ( I work for her, part time, and the guy that signs our paychecks has Monsignor in front of his name)

Tough call. Can you get a different part time job to eliminate that part of the equation?

Got a dilemma on my hands. A client (very cheap) finally caved and agreed to replace an aging server and 6 workstations. Without getting too into details, gave a quote for new systems at the end of Feb., heard back 2.5 months later that they wanted to proceed - and very fast. Had to submit new quotes, just to make sure it was still a go, since #'s had changed. Done, ordered. We also needed to purchase 6 Office 2007 Pros (don't ask). He would not cough up the full price and had me search for the cheapest I could find. After searching, but not trusting the sources, I finally did on a co. that seemed to offer legit, but cheap real copies. My CC was promptly charged and was told that I would receive the shipping info. Nothing. The boss really wants his stuff installed last year and is getting impatient. Fire off an email to the SW co., never to receive a response. Great, $725 gone for the moment. Decide to give it 2 weeks before talking to my CC co about a reversal..... Client ordered Office a diff. way...

....This week I was sick and really didn't want to deal, so I put it off until last night. Looked at my email for the first time this week and what do I see? An email with a tracking #. Great :rolleyes: Come home just now and the box is at my door.

So, now what? Do I open the box to verify that there are 6 products, send an email to a shady co. and wait for RMA info that may never show? Or do I just contact my CC co. now tell them the story and let them deal with it?

Yes and no. The money isn't make or break, it's mostly my drinking/fixing my stupid Rover money, definitely not necessary. On the other hand, my counterpart in the job is slightly below incompetent and it would really put them in a bind if I left. In some ways, I definitely regret taking the job, but she practically begged me to take it and I have this disease that prevents me from saying 'no' to pretty women :rolleyes:

The company I work for does not allow spouses to work there just in case one might be made the other's manager/boss. Other family relationships are fine, and seem encouraged. When co-workers dated and got serious they were asked that one leave the company.
