Just got done with a bearing change out on the Kenmore front load washer.
Can't believe that Napa had both bearings in stock........the seal..... i had to put a few miles on trying to find that.
Thinking about lowering it and maybe a corner balance.

Sweet. Just don't stick a whale tail on it if it's a narrow bodied washer. It'll look like crap that way.

I am not implying that at all. I just know that the female spousal units can preceive a error or minor mistake as a major screw up.

been there done that. I have learned from my mistakes, and I have 3 years to get it really right.

Hows the guitar?

slodave 06-24-2011 09:42 PM

Alarick will have to get them from his partner. :p

Guitar is doing well. I brought it out to KevinP73's shop to ask a few questions about sanding/buffing. I also spent $46 on sandpaper. I did a quick sand on a little section down to 2000 grit and it looks good. Still a bit of haze looking straight at the spot I worked on, but very mirror/glass like when looked at from the side. I'll try and get some pix of the process, but not much to show.

Morning guys, Well it was an interesting day here yesterday. On my way to work I pass my Chrysler that the daughter and P.O.S. son in law are driving, it is sitting on the side of the road, with the flashers going. I turn around and can find nobody. I go to the store right up the road, nope nobody there either, so I go on to work, figuring the s.i.l. has it under control. Well the county calls a wrecker to pick the car up. Long story short it cost ME $200 to find out that MY car has a broken camshaft. On a side note, he has no idea why the brand new tires have that wear pattern, where they are all good except for the right front one that now has no tread and cords hanging out of it. It was pointed out in no uncertain words how pleased I was with the situation and the duration of time he should stay out of range.

Several year ago I pulled out of a parking space. I had to wait for another car before I could go anywhere and there was a car behind me waiting for my space. This idiot that was parked beside me pulls out and proceeds to back into the side of my car. I was honking and yelling but he continued until the car would not back any more due to the my car being there. I asked him if he heard my honking and yelling to stop and he said yes. I asked why he didn't stop. He said he thought it was for someone else. He was the ONLY car in the entire parking lot moving! I found he was in a borrowed car and this was the 4th wreck he had had in the last two weeks. I told him it was about time he should start taking the bus.

A friends son bought a 944. Did several things to fix it up. A few weeks into ownership was driving along and the oil light came on. He ignored it and drove it to destruction. He and his father bought another 944 they yanked the motor, rebuilt it and swapped em. Before they started that project his dad asked what I would do and I said I would take it to a local Porsche Shop that would guarantee the rebuild. He laughed and said he grew up building dirt track racers. I warned him that building a Porsche motor is like balance and blueprint building a Chevy motor. Sure enough a couple of weeks into the new motor the exact same thing happened. Oil light came on and the son drove it to destruction. Both 944s were sold to local junk yard and the dad now calls Porsches junk.

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to have cars. Some because they can't drive, some because they can't own.

Sidney, take lots of pictures and do a write up for the War Whoop that will make everyone want to go for a drive with the club.

porsche4life 06-25-2011 05:52 AM

Tulsa group should be here any minute and we should the road. I've taken a few pics, as has Steve.

Rick V 06-25-2011 08:35 AM

The saga continues. We are having a party today (about 50 people) and the son in law called to ask if it was okay for him to come over. Beth informed him that would not be a good idea, Rick has a lot of guns here at the house.
My son is going to pick up his little sister and bring her over.......................sans husband. :)

Geronimo '74 06-25-2011 12:13 PM

I'd hate to be on your bad side, Rick...
In September, I'll come bearing gifts to make sure...
:D

RKDinOKC 06-25-2011 12:17 PM

Didn't the SIL even offer to reimburse the $200?

Let my boss drive my 928 right after I got it. He curbed the right front wheel and didn't even offer to pay to have it refinished.

Porsche-poor 06-25-2011 01:09 PM

My wife has not even driven the 911, my boss isn't getting near it.
