Got moms washing machine fixed tonight. We had to replace the main bearings. They were SLOPPY, and very close to locking up. It runs much quieter now for some reason... ;)

slodave 07-18-2011 11:02 PM

You know what they say about sloppy bearings.

Morning/Afternoon gents.

Do you do Dryers? Mine is sounding more like a Harley each day. Not good.

porsche4life 07-18-2011 11:07 PM

If you will pay for the parts, and my trip there and back... Sure...

vas930 07-18-2011 11:14 PM

Hmmm sounds like an idea.

porsche4life 07-18-2011 11:17 PM

Damn, are appliance repairmen that hard to find in aussie land?

vas930 07-18-2011 11:26 PM

No, but same cost to fly you out, motel and hire car for two weeks.

porsche4life 07-18-2011 11:28 PM

You get better rates on that stuff than the rest of us? Cuz, I'm coming up with about 2k in my head....

Night guys...

vas930 07-18-2011 11:32 PM

2k just for the trip out here.

slodave 07-18-2011 11:32 PM

Night! Don't let the bed bugs bite.

vas930 07-18-2011 11:36 PM

Good morning,

Spent yesterday in the bay.
The engine bay, that is... Cleaning... Lotsa nooks and crannies, a bitsj to clean, and it doesn't look like I cleaned a lot either.
Should I replace the soundmat I removed, or just leave it out?
Today is parts clean day

Picking up Bilsteins shocks and 964 cams later this week.
Then everything goes to the mechanic.
Who's up for a ride??
:)

slodave 07-18-2011 11:44 PM

Pix or it didn't happen!

Geronimo '74 07-18-2011 11:49 PM

Like I said, the engine bay is black and 26 years old. I just removed dust and grime. The age and color still make it look kinda the same as before.
Also wiring, they look clean, but they don't look new. I wish I had the cash to do it all from scratch but somebody fuched up and my 185 million euros ended up in Scotland....

vas930 07-18-2011 11:54 PM

Whats the sound mat like?
If it looks OK just give it a clean.

Geronimo '74 07-18-2011 11:56 PM

It fell apart, crumble crumble after 26 years.....
Seeing that I have an opened up air filter box and a dual in dual out M&K muffler, it may be a good idea to replace it.

vas930 07-19-2011 12:10 AM

Yep put a new one in mate. It will drive you mad without it.
Whats the engine plan?

vas930 07-19-2011 12:30 AM
