I ran 18.2 kilometers today, farther and longer than I have ever run without stopping in my life.
It took me 2 hours and 4 minutes.
I passed 10 miles after 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Not exactely fast, but I trained to run the distance.
Now I start training to run the distance fast.

What.....was that cougar right behind you?

Geronimo '74 08-15-2011 09:27 AM

Lol, :D

My average speed would have been higher if that were the case... ;)
Although with her smoking habit, I doubt she could run a mile before going into cardiac arrest....

Ugh, kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray. BTDT ain't ever gonna do it again.

I was too drunk to notice the details, Glen.
There were more pressing reasons not to do what I did...
Now can we please move on and forget this ever happened. :D

GH85Carrera 08-15-2011 10:41 AM

Forget what?

Geronimo '74 08-15-2011 10:53 AM

Huh, what are you talking about?
Dunno, can't remember... ;)

Playing with some LED samples I got this weekend. May have found a kickass solution to the 944 gauge lighting issue. :D Dimmable, durable, and 12v so they will just wire right in. Just need to play with the best install method. Glad I have a spare cluster to cannibalize.

nynor 08-15-2011 01:54 PM

the nefarious and infamous 944 gauge lights. we expect a full write up.

belts are on. ingrid is back together. battery is too weak to turn the starter. :( why does everything mechanical take three times as long to accomplish as i expect it to?

GH85Carrera 08-15-2011 01:56 PM

The battery is electrical, not mechanical :)

porsche4life 08-15-2011 01:58 PM

I may do a full write up when I start selling kits... ;)

I can order these LEDs through one of our suppliers.... Just need find the best way to hook it into the current light wiring in the car to utilize the factory dimmers. Would really like to use one of the sockets of the bulbs. This LED is 12v, 1.68w draw, so one of the factory incandescent bulb sockets should pull it no issue.

right. and it is doing my head in.

Porsche-poor 08-15-2011 02:24 PM

Sounds like fun letting the smoke out of the car would be Rev. 1 Rev 2 getting it all back in the wires.

slodave 08-15-2011 02:28 PM

Sidney, you are a little late... LED conversions have been around a few years now. :)

i had that happen on my old triumph bonneville more than once. it wasn't fun.

well, the car started, runs great. i think i'll have to leave the trickle charger on it for several hours.

redline in first comes up fast!

nynor 08-15-2011 05:54 PM

Yes, but just putting LED bulbs in the stock holes, does not get rid of the horrid VDO reflector system. The deal I am messing with bypasses that, and shines much better light on the subject... I'll post pictures later...

nynor 08-15-2011 07:27 PM

FWIW, i like my gauge lights dim. have you ever flown a plane at night?
