What kind of wood is that?

osage orange. cool stuff. if i had ANY woodworking skill, i'd make some stuff with it. it is SUPER dense and very pretty. smells good too.

i still need to split it. it is too green. i tried splitting a piece and it was all i could do to get it split with my maul. i'll wait a month and give it another try. the humidity here is under 40%, so it should dry fast.

Never heard about it. Had to google it. Hardwood indeed.

It is a neat old mansion that is all fixed up inside.

We then went to the ice cream social and just got back to the room. Tonight is the Concours banquet and I should meet up with Byron of pelican fame.
