The Targa, not so much. It's a different beast. The changes to my car are within line with the Targa.
Want to stiffen the body? Put the braces I put in. Stopped the top from squeaking.

Stijn!!

Rick, my Elky is 25 years old. I don't want a 39 year old Elky.

Dave, I find most autocross speed problems are the loose nut behind the wheel.

Well then, maybe the lot of us ought to head down under to Vas for a seminar along the lines of "Don´t worry, be happy".

Feeling verbose this afternoon. Think I will spread it out over several posts to increase my post count.

I got started autocrossing just after purchasing a 1989 944 Turbo S. I had been looking for a nice 928 I could afford for over a year and decided I could get a cheap red 944 to drive and sell it really quick when I found a 928.

I wasn't intending to get a 944 Turbo, they were too expensive to sell quickly. And this particular one was white instead of red, again wouldn't sell quickly.

I had spent the entire Saturday looking at the 5 red 944s for sale. All but one was basically trashed, either paint, interior, or mechanically. As an example one was nice, it even had Luanne embroidered on the front carpets. But, I almost didn't make it home from the test drive the clutch was slipping so bad. They wouldn't take the cost of a clutch off their asking price so I walked.

Thank you, David. Again, my Targa is already very stiff from the mods I have done. Triangulated harness bar - rare and performs two functions, triangulated strut bar up front, Wevo tranny and engine mounts - these all stiffen the car up just fine.
