that looks like fun.

OK, I'm such an idiot. For the past 2 days, I've been trying to get this new-to-me motorcycle running. It would start and run for about 5 minutes, and then sputter and die. Frustrating. I thought it might be a dying battery from sitting around for 3 weeks in cross-country transit. So I plucked a working battery from my other bike and swapped it into the "new" bike. Still did the same thing. Grrr.

There's a fuel petcock. But it protrudes from the underside of the tank (have to lift the tank up to get to it) and looks like an unmarked little knurled knob--not like the clearly marked 3-position switches by your left knee I've had on previous bikes in the past. Doh! The dealership that shipped the bike must have screwed it in for safety during transit.

Oh yeah, just as I figured this out and took the bike for a test spin around the block, it started to rain. First rain in weeks/months.

Rained pretty good a couple weeks ago. Remember the thunder and lightening?

Okay I really give up trying to understand how my wife thinks. Today she had a tooth pulled and has been sacked on the couch for most of the day. I leave work and call her on the way home. The conversation went as follows.
Beth: "hey"
Me: "Hey, How are you doing"
Beth: Napping"
Me: "Okay that is good but, how are you doing?"
Beth: "I'm napping"
Me: "Okay then see you in a little bit"

Now lets make sure I am not the one losing my mind here, isn't napping a "what are you doing" and not a "how you are doing"?
I give up

slodave 09-30-2011 03:05 PM

Hold on... I think the phone has enough of a charge for a game or two.

I'm with Beth on this.. If I don't feel well and you wake me from a nap, I'd give the same answer - which means "you just woke me the F up, it had better be for a good reason".

(Not with you--with Beth. Said by Rick--not by me.)

She doesn't need to be awake for that

slodave 09-30-2011 03:17 PM

Uh uh. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, if my ex woke me for sex, I'd have divorced her.

Rick V 09-30-2011 03:21 PM

I guess I am different, I have had all manner of dental work done including some rather deep posts during root canals and I never even so much as had an advil afterwords.

Porsche-poor 09-30-2011 03:22 PM

you have birds now. no need for more cold showers.

slodave 09-30-2011 03:23 PM

I'm just grouchy after any type of invasive procedure. I've had to call a surgery center after I got home an apologize for being an *******.
