I'm awake, not too much jetlag. Staying up for 36h straight and then getting a good night of sleep helps getting in the new rythm.
Still haven't unloaded my suitcase yet, nor did I start up the computer....

Well it is actually, for me the border is 20 km away
And though it's such a short distance, you do instantly notice you are in a whole different country. Roads look different, houses, shops... Even the smell inside shops is slightly different, dunno why, but i can only assume they use different cleaning products with scents catered for the French noses :) even the womens look different... usually shorter, not as much blondes... and because it's a big town (Lille) more exotic people in the big supermarkets..

I like shopping there not so much for fresh food, it won't be that better then our local butcher. But i do like to stock up on TV dinners, canned food, salami's , stuff i can find here, but different brands and flavours...
Just some welcome variation of junk food, for those days when i come home and can't be arsed to cook

And brought home a considerable bunch of cans for my strategic food stash...

Busy morning for me. Zipped to the club breakfast and had to leave early. My wife was participating in the homecoming parade. No she is not the homecoming queen. :)

The university she works for has a program called "bum a bike". They sprinkle bikes all over the campus for students to use for free. She rode a bike and dressed up as a bum.

She blacked out her teeth and borrowed some of my "work on the car" clothes. They had fun.

Ugh head cold has gone sinus infection. Time to do nothing.

Still feeling sick here, too. I was particularly flatuant last night. I finally confessed to my wife this morning, who commented: "Oh, thank God. I thought the cat had s**t in the house in the middle of the night or something."

We still have the one cat who has gone nuts on us.

My cats are indoor-outdoor. One wouldn't come in last night. He's a pretty good mouser, so maybe he just had stuff to catch. The other spent the night in my bathroom sink.

ours are both indoor only but one likes to slip out. Guess he was out for a long time yesterday. Late last night the wife let him and the other one has gone around the bend.

Sounds like my kids when one gets something "valuable" (ice cream, toy, candy, etc) and the other doesn't.
