Sounds worse than it is actually, most camera's are fixed and programmed into the GPS, and there aren't too many locations for mobile radars. (at least not on highways, those are fairly visible)
In towns and villages we keep speeding to a minimum. (I do anyway)

word, chance of getting caught is very low... unless you are a complete tool who doesn't pay attention... I've been cruising at 160 for more then a year, and only now got my ticket...

The worst speed control is when they work with averages, like in UK or NL.
you pass a sensor array, then 5 miles down the road another one... distance is known, so is the time, that's yer speed... you can't slow down for the camera and speed up again... doesn't work...

The only way i managed to defeat it in Holland, is when there were 2 averages, on 2 different highways... I'de zoom through gate #1-1 , get off the high way, take a shortcut... get on the second highway , and zoom through gate #2-2... skipping 1-2 and 2-1 altogether...

Personally, i think those averages are dangerous... you got folks watching their speedometer so much that they don't pay attention to the road...

I looked up your town. You're right, you do live in sticksville. Population 555 in 2000. Nice.

I bet I have 500 people living on my block.

as a teenager i lived in Kemmel, also tiny town... couple a hills, one bakery, one butcher, 6-7 pubs... I worked as a bartender in one of those pubs.. .drove a Suzuki X 40 cc dirtbike, only legally allowed to go 40km... yet i over took the coops on more then one occasion doing 100 when their Lada couldn't keep up with me... They didn't mind, because they were headed for the same pub anyway to get some beer down.

Morning from the boonies.
Hey Dave You'll love this, My little town is nestled about 20 miles from the blueridge mountains, so it isn't a bad drive when ya need to "get away from it all". Mostly national forest up there.

Morning Rick.

I'm sure I would. I prefer small town life. OK, I don't like stickers on my cars. The annual license tax sticker thing would annoy me.

Dude, the inspection sticker and county stickers on the windshield hide the V1 so well. They are verboten here in Va.

Other fun facts:

According to Google maps, I have three routes to Scottsville:

2,580 miles - 1 day, 14 hrs.
2,606 miles - 1 day, 14 hrs.
2,801 miles - 1 day, 18 hrs.

All three routes look like fun. If I take the long route, I can visit Gogar!

P.S. Pee Wee's Pit BBQ?
