Insomnia is my problem and nothing puts me out.
|
Sorry to barge into your domain then, Dave. :)
Good for you, Glen! |

Well, maybe propfol.. But I'm not going there.

I sleep like a log.
The trick is to have everything resolved. Everything! :) |
Yeah.. When I lie down, everything that's unresolved floods my head. :D
|
And we all would like to grasp your recipe for that, Vas! I mean truly! :)

Vas you are 100% correct. When I am ready to sleep I do not allow any work thoughts or any problems to exist.
I often have the opposite of a nightmare, I call it a night funny. I have awakened many times because I was laughing so hard from some silly dream. My wife thinks I am a space alien because I often giggle while I am dreaming. |
30mgs. of Melatonin and I'm still wide awake.

A good sleep is as important as a good diet. |
1. I see we have a theme song. Dave should work on a cover for us.
2. Sundays are the worst for sleeping as soon as I hit the pillow I start planning the week. |
Just got home from our company insurance wellness screening. I am in the normal range for everything they measured yet did not meet the standards to not have to go to the 2 hour lecture to get my premium discount. Our Wellness Coordinator is one of those young complete health nut trainer types and he didn't pass either. Next year if you don't meet the maximums you don't get a discount. He said he was going to have to train specifically to pass the screening next year. I think that is nuts.

There are some nights I just can't sleep and am am not planning or thinking about anything but the fact that I can't sleep. Melatonin has never helped me, it is more of a help if you are fighting jet lag. Benedryl sometimes works as does Sominex (the sleep aid that is not rebranded benedryl).
St. John's Wort is supposed to help you sleep if you can't stop thinking about stuff. Background music without lyrics or a tv program you have zero interest in also helps calm your mind so you can sleep. |
After a few weeks on really strong pain killers after a surgery that left me with an open incision for 2 months I got to a point that I couldn't sleep, but also couldn't focus on anything long enough to do anything. The older home health care nurse that was doing my twice a day wound care suggested I get some dirty magazines and knock one out. It worked. Her next visit I told her it really helped but I was afraid I might get addicted.

F'ing BIND!!!

Not sleeping doesn't bother me. It's the not being able to stay awake at about 10am the next day.

Spent Friday night and most of the day Saturday recovering my Primary DNS server. It was a gritch because for some unknown reason requests were not getting forwarded to my Secondary DNS server. |
That's my problem. I wouldnt mind staying up all night if I could stay awake in school...
