Max, its b/c whoever owns the rights to AC/DC is being a hold out. I have a feeling it is costing them money in the long run though. Easier to pirate then it is to go buy a hardcopy.

This says that your dad needs a new (used) vehicle for business, not pleasure. So I mention the appropriate type of car, a reliable, cheap car.

Then you say this...

Which says you are looking for a car for you. You are free to spend your money how you please. In the end, none of us really care. But, if you offer the above info, which you did, you will get answers you may not want to hear. Plus, you're confused. You're going both ways on this, one moment its for your dads business, the next you come back with: "What does it matter if I am...".

Dave, the old 3series are pretty tough cars, every bit as reliable as the old S10. Consider that he has been looking at Mk1 GTi s for the same use. Just an extra vehicle to keep around the place, the same place our shop is on.

C'mon you are reading WAY too much into a link I posted wanting ricks opinion about the car itself, not its intended use, who was buying, etc. It was an ad that posted on the OK bimmerforum, we have been discussing picking something like this up anyways. I was just throwing it out there. I've never wavered about the cars use, it will be the extra beater. Its not a car for me. Like it or not, due to the miles I drive I am stuck with the damned Corolla until it is no longer able to serve its purpose, or I can afford something else.

I can attest to the fact that the E21 and E30 are built like tanks and haul lots of stuff, and are still nearly as much fun to drive as a Porsche.

They do need to be maintained, though. If they are cared for they will return the favor.

And I would venture to say that 90% of the time I would rather have an old BMW than a new one. I would really like to have a 2002 so I could be smog exempt.

If I was reading WAY too much into it, then Glen wouldn't have posted either. The way you posted, was in the topical way you do when your eyes turn to $ signs and you start posting about cars and bikes for sale around Oklahoma.

Max, your BMW wasn't exactly turning right over last time I saw it and I believe you even mentioned something about that.

I hear ya max, everytime I mess with the E36 I thank god that we didn't get the E90 330XI bought. It was a cool car, but damn it had so many electric gagdets...

Dave, glen just said he doesn't think I need anymore projects, you are the one that jumped on the wagon about me leaving and starting grilling me when I said it wasn't for me etc.... Don't worry about it. This one has some less than good qualities the more I dig. I'm passing....

Leaving? I never said anything about leaving. I just mentioned that, like Glen, that you have other projects and may heading off for that Internship. In which case, buying another project is just beyond foolish.

I think he should get a Honduh.. and put some dubs and a fart can on it.
He'll be getting mad punani with that car. Which is way more then no punani he's getting now.

The chances of me owning a 4wheeled honduh are pretty slim....

Oh and you are sadly mistaken on my punani status.... I'd put money on that I am getting more than you....

Aw come on...Give the Sid some credit, He needs a nice euro sedan. When I was in college I had 4 vehicles. A Ford van, an Audi sedan, a Mopar muscle car, and a Chevy Blazer 4x4. That was after I gave my Ford station wagon to my brother. Of all the cars the Audi was definitely THE date car.

Nope. You just crawl back into bed, pull the covers over your head until it's tomorrow.

At least, it works for me.
