you bet !

Obviously, the meter will start ticking pretty hard if i start to cook something( electrical stove, microwave) or if i use warm watter (electric water heater for the time being)...
It barely covers computer use today, when there is no sun, it's grey outside.

But every little bit helps, and next summer when the thing is producing at full whack, the meter will turn backwards rather quickly... Can't wait.

Even on slow days it is a good thing, every little bit helps.

Excellent, Stijn. I can imagine its tempting to go check that meter several times a day just to see how you are doing energy wise.

Actually, it's addictive..

The meter started off at 5.1 when the dude installed it this morning.

right now, it's at 4.9

while i've been on my computer all morning.

But truth be told, it's pretty much amateur stuff at the moment, the sun ain't out, sure my computer electricity was free, but i haven't done any cooking, no washing machine, no appliances that really use power have been on this morning..

And so far in 4 hours, the panels produced not even a full Kwh...
(price of 1 kwh =24.4064 Euro cents.. that's right, cents, not even full euro's)

So essentially in winter time the whole PV setup is barely enough to cover the dormant use of my low powered electronical appliances.

So in winter my meter will still keep register usage.. albeit at a slightly lower rate.
But in summer time, the meter will be going backwards at about 1 revolution of the disk, per 3 secs.. (1 kwh = 370 revolutions), so summer time will make up for the dark months in no time.

I calculated that i should have enough PV panels to cover my usage in an average Belgian year, including water heating all year round for 1 person, 1 decent shower a day, meaning i don't have to give up any comfort , at all.

Still, watching every little kWh click in must feel pretty groovy.

Markus, do folks have PV installs in Sweden?

I would imagine that it's less effective up north,
maybe South of Sweden still doable, but the north??
