As far as cash and paying bills, I figure...hey, I can earn some interest on that until they invoice me. But then again, I am not very good at prompt invoicing myself.

interest?? in 2011?? good luck with that.

either way, it's also a way to prevent me spending cash that i virtually no longer have.

rick, for the record:

after i got things cleaned up on bank 2, re. the O2 sensors and such, it started throwing identical codes for bank 1. i replaced the front sensor, reset the computer, drove it thru its drive cycles, and it passed emissions today with all monitors ready and no codes.

frankly, i am pretty stoked. the codes it was giving were failed catalytic converters. i can almost guarantee that the shop would have told me the cats were bad, replaced them, and i would have had the same problems, only to pay for new sensors anyway.

Morning all.
Not at work due to an odd occurance.
My Suby has done 130000km and it seems the front diff has gone kablamo!
Started making a high pitch noise two days ago.
Well, by yesterday on the way home from work it sounded like a concrete mixer.
Its fine under acceleration, but lift off and under load it sounds shocking.
As is the case, its just out of factory warranty.
Hope its not the trans itself.
Most amusing was when the Suby guy said he had never heard of such an issue.

Vas, can you just disconnect the front driveshaft like on a 911 C4?

Done with school till Monday. Didn't have time to go for coffee before I left.

Got the rear rotors off the 944 today. Got new fronts to go on that I scored on eBay. I'll have the rears turned. Should have my new porterfield R4S pads tomorrow via UPS

The earlier 12v motors are better, but the later 24v trucks are a little nicer. It all depends on budget and what you need out of the truck.

And what's available.

Another thing to look at is CNG powered trucks. Looks like there are quite a few filing stations in SLC.

So do you have anything exciting planned for the break? My Dad and I are going to hit the canyons tomorrow in the 911. Going to the LA Autoshow Friday. Not sure what I'll do Saturday. Probably some Vibes and other ME homework. Yay!

Seems that every old Mercedes I see here is a diesel running on veggie oil. You can smell them from miles down the highway.
