I feel bad for her, she may have hurt me, but I know that she's been hurt very badly in the past and I suspect these correlate in her mind.
My former employer on the other hand has proven to be absolute opportunistic scum operating under the guise of a religious institution. They have a pattern of treating people poorly and ostracizing anyone bold enough to complain.
I can stand up and make my point, but I know of another employee who cannot...he can't risk losing the job as he'd lose his house as well in very short order. There's another case already filed in state with very similar facts....and another that was settled after the scum had missed every deadline and drug things out as far as possible. Some of the things people have had to sue for are absolutely appalling...

Ok, thats another day lost.
Another day you are stuck.
Another day longer you must now wait before living a good life.
Maybe meeting a good woman.
All to prove a point. Good luck.

No way in hell I would let this woman cost me one day.
Nor would I miss out on a day due to my own actions.
You have tried to use making a stand as a means to an end.
It wont end that way, just continue.
Just call it off. :)

Ugly, Max.

I know you're right....I just want to find a way to get over her, but still fry these bastards...maybe it can't happen

slodave 12-01-2011 08:36 PM

I'm still with Vas on this. I did exactly what you are doing to yourself for about 6 months after my gf called it off. It's been just about 5 years now and I'm still bitter.

Get on with you life ASAP! It's no fun being down like this.

You will get over her in time.
Now do you want that time to start now or some time in the future.
Your wasting time. :)

I do know that a big part of me is terrified I'll never find someone else that I can feel like that about...

What are you, in high school?

OK, that was a little bit harsh. But it was meant to be honest, too. If you could feel so fantastic about one person, you can find those same feelings towards another. But it will be hard to do so unless you're willing to move on.

I don't know the situation as well as you do, obviously. But it certainly sounds like TEB ship has sailed. There are a lot of fantastic people in this world. Don't sit around moping (or plotting as it may be) and miss out on the next opportunity and let some other lucky guy snag her.

Dave.
See the Darwin thread has taken an ugly turn.

Porsche-poor 12-01-2011 08:44 PM

Less now cause I can't do math as fast as you post it seems.

vas930 12-01-2011 08:46 PM

Good work, David.

Porsche-poor 12-01-2011 08:51 PM

I started going through the thread from the begining and found this.

Reading it, native english folks, and Indians end up with "stigeon", which has become my defacto nick name with co-workers...

It's actually pronounced more like the verb "Staying" but choke the ing so it becomes an N.
Stay-N

Dutch or Germans that heard it once, often revert to "Stein", like in Einstein. But it's not.

Frechies , hit N miss, never know what they will come up with, and none can remember it
For that purpose, quite often i give em my second name "Jan" translated to French : "Jean", so they at least remember something...

I like Stigeon, or the StiJ, i'm pretty much like the Stig, i wanna go fast and stuff, quite antisocial, hate public transport, speedlimits. stuff like that...
I'm just more talkative then he is... :D

It's a typical Flemish name, abreviation of either Constantijn/Constantine, or Augustijn/Augustine, or any other saint or big wig name that ends with -stine.
But lately it became a flemish name in it's own right, without anything before it.
Hell, i don't need no saint to be named after, Winston Churchil called Ypres Holy ground to the British Empire, i was born and raised there.. So that practically makes me a Saint in my own right :D

I knew it was not simply Sten! I feel good to have confirmation.

When I first saw it I thought to pronounce it like it is spelled- Stijn as in "Styn". Is that right?

vas930 12-01-2011 10:19 PM

Third line down, Max.

livi 12-01-2011 10:37 PM

something triggers that, had similar crap myself, then realized it was her smell.
Find out what it is, then replicate (watch picture, listen to voice, smell, etc etc) while you punch yerself in the nuts.. guaranteed success.

Don't sit around for 10 years going "i'm fine as long as i don't see her", with the occasional breakdown of the will and ensuing drunken stupor. Trust me on the nut punching.. It will work. might save 10 years worth of sanity.
