Yeah but I am too bright to buy into the over priced big brother crap that goes along with crapple. Not only that but when someone hands you a Toshiba Satellite for free because they are tired of messing with it, you go with what works the best...............Linux.

I am using an android phone (for now) and I can do with it as I see fit without having to jailbreak it from the original programming.
Don't get me wrong I love crapples hardware, it's the locked you down software that I object to.
I am still working on operation screw craple I am going to use this iphone elsewhere and I should be on total unlocked, unlimited everything by the end of the month, with Dave's old iphone

From a business sense, the lockdown of hardware makes sense for apple. Lessens the risk of someone doing something stupid, and then complaining about it being Apple's fault. Honestly, I haven't had an issue with anything like that on my iPhone, the only issue I have is crap imposed by ATT, but I don't really have a choice for carrier out here...

Oh and you will be happy to know that your android phone is reporting back to google every few minutes.....

Talk about big brother.

I just can't get on the android boat. Too many of the devices feel poorly made, and its all the same software with an attempt to pretty it up for each manufacturer. Many of the android devices look good on paper, and then fail in execution.

Thats fine Sid, it can report all of the things I do on/with my phone as long as I have the freedom to do as I see fit with MY phone.

Dave got it but I may have given just too good of a hint.

Slackware: It works, but will probably be very hands on.

Quick question Rick, what is it you are wanting to do with the phone, that it won't let you do, outside of using it on a carrier other than ATT?
