The cost of living in general is higher than the US.
But the sport car thing is a one off.
Aust car industry? Like the GM owned Holden, with GM now owned by the Feds here, or the American Ford?

So I inspected my rear Advan A048s during a driver change on my drive with my Dad today and there was a quarter ($0.25) sized bit of cords showing on one tire, one spot. We continued the drive, at a slightly reduced pace, but it looks like it is time for new rear tires.

They were nice as slicks for a couple hundred miles.

I definately want to make sure we get our money's worth out of them, as they cost considerably more than a quarter.

That's that BMW understeer. I know about that, too. My E21 front tires wear on the outside after a summer of canyon driving, but I rotate the tires before they get to the cords (usually).

The wear pattern on the 911 tires looks nice and even. The camber seems just right for the driving I do.

Not entirely..

That's mostly bad alignment from abusing it on less then good roads.
And not slowing down for speedbumps...

By the time they realigned it, or at least got it closer to good alignment (it was to far out of wack , they only managed 90% or so), the tires had worn out unevenly...

Ah. Emulating the racing driver method of using the rumble strips as part of the track, eh?

Nah, just entirely not giving a chit about potholes, speed bumps and other inconveniences .. after all, it's a "company rally car", lease company pays for it, i don't.. I just do my bit to keep the economy going

Here's a picture from Shera (not Paul @ Rock Store Photos.com)

911S new years day 2012 by Max_911S_fahrer, on Flickr

I like how she shoots from more varied places, versus Paul's two main spots.
