porsche4life 02-28-2012 06:00 PM

I don't see any way of dying as being good. I think its all going to suck.....

nynor 02-28-2012 06:06 PM

come spend a week with me. you will have a brand new perspective.

GH85Carrera 02-28-2012 06:07 PM

I drink coffee 5 days a week on average. Never a withdrawal headache.

I have never had diet soda.
Whats the go ,D.
What does it do to the body ? :)

nynor 02-28-2012 06:41 PM

do a quick google search. there is a lot of new data re. diet sodas.

in a nutshell, the artificial sweeteners metabolize into very bad things for your body. you are better off just drinking the properly sweetened sodas. also, the artificial sweeteners mess with your metabolism. they also damage your heart.

vas930 02-28-2012 06:43 PM

Thanks.

vas930 02-28-2012 06:50 PM

Just Google Chemtrails and there are many web site for those as well. What clinical studies have been done on diet soda? What are those results.

By the way Chemtrails are just crazy stupid.

porsche4life 02-28-2012 07:14 PM

I understand the theory behind D's claims, but at the same time, I've heard of very little(read none) first hand evidence.....

RKDinOKC 02-28-2012 07:21 PM

First hand experience, I had an allergic reaction (food poisoning) to Aspartame (Nutri-sweet). Built up over time drinking diet coke. Since I started staying away from artificial sweeteners I don't have an all out food poisoning type reaction, but if I eat or drink something that has Nutri-sweet in it my throat hurts when I swallow.

porsche4life 02-28-2012 07:23 PM

Richard, its possible to build up an allergy to anything....

GH85Carrera 02-28-2012 07:34 PM

Richard that is called Anecdotal evidence. That is not clinical evidence. I know many people that have consumed artificial sweeteners for many decades with no ill effects. That is also anecdotal evidence.

~sigh~

Diet soda may up heart attack, stroke risk - UPI.com

Study shows diet soda is associated with vascular risk factors | The Kentucky Kernel

The Canadian National Newspaper: Diet Colas: Artiticial sweetners cause weight gain and diabetes

yes, you have to pick your poison. so why pick diet soda? it tastes like crap and gives you nothing in return.

RKDinOKC 02-28-2012 07:50 PM

There wasn't an antidote that I know of.

Was experience not evidence or clinical results.

Also got salmonella poisoning from some chicken nuggets from Gandy's. Had a temperature of 105°F thought I was gonna die. Didn't have to build up at all, was deathly sick within 2 hours of eating it. Still not a fan of chicken unless it doesn't taste like chicken and it's been 30 years ago.

Porsche-poor 02-28-2012 08:09 PM

I'm not quiting now.............

nynor 02-28-2012 08:21 PM

of course you aren't. data has been demonstrated to be remarkably ineffective at getting people to stop bad behavior. just look at smoking (cigars included).

Porsche-poor 02-28-2012 08:22 PM

its my one vice. shoot me.

nynor 02-28-2012 08:23 PM

nah. that would be quick and painless.
