Morning guys. Since I'm still up, I figured I'd contribute to this fine thread and say HI!SmileWavy

Off to bed now. Long day...

Rick V 12-24-2009 01:38 AM

Morning Doc

slodave 12-24-2009 01:40 AM

Glad you got your car back home Scott. :)

450knotOffice 12-24-2009 01:44 AM

Thanks Dave. So am I. It's still dead though - at least until Steve looks at the DME.

slodave 12-24-2009 01:48 AM

It probably is a broken solder joint. They are not always easy to spot. Steve also has a post that shows a couple locations that are prone to failure. :) He'll figure it out.

+1 on the broken solder.... I had a bike with that issue...

Ok boys I'm going to bed.... Looks like we aren't going to get much fluffy white stuff... Just slick stuff... Hope I can sleep till it clears off tomorrow. :D

Morning. The kids are fine, thanks. Complaining there are less than a hundred gifts under the tree..

slodave 12-24-2009 02:17 AM

Start them on the Swedish jello vodka shots early this year?

Did you remind them about the fathers day gifts?

Rick V 12-24-2009 03:25 AM

Unleashed in the East, pounding through 2,000 watts is not advisable while driving on snow/ice covered roads.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

livi 12-24-2009 03:26 AM

Yup, we are all having age and weight related dosages of medical alcohol blended with a variety of lemonade and juice. They have made good regarding fathers day and promised me a bunch of Porsche magazines for Christmas.

svandamme 12-24-2009 03:54 AM

Porsche magazines? why not a subscription to GDSIG ?

Rick V 12-24-2009 03:59 AM

Or as slow as you drive how about Buick magazines

svandamme 12-24-2009 04:06 AM

She's way too much for you, virgin boy.

Merry Christmas, bozo's

livi 12-24-2009 07:59 AM

Thanks for the tip! Sounds like just the magazine for me.

svandamme 12-24-2009 09:08 AM

Markus, i started it just for you, just get a subscription. Think about it, nobody else has a full magazine, with just one copy , just for him, fully tailored to suit his needs...

Rick V 12-24-2009 09:12 AM

Now that is a good gift.
Drive slow, Fluff fast

svandamme 12-24-2009 09:19 AM

Dear GDSID,
last week, i was cruising down the highway at a leisurely 45mph,
when i accidentally mis-shifted from 4th to 5th, i wanted to be in 3rd, the idea being to give my engine a bit of workout, but revving up to 4000 rpm.
For obvious reasons, it scared the be-jezus out of me as the car started to accelerate.
Luckely i managed to contain the situation, and got it into Neutral, applied full brakes before i reached 49.

Please tell me how i can avoid such a dangerous event.
Is there a way to remove 5th gear completely from the shifter pattern?
Can i just jam a piece of wood in there, or should i have the 5th gear physically removed from the gear box by a mechanic??

livi 12-24-2009 09:19 AM

Brilliant! Fluffy brilliant!
