Dude, that is not boasting. That is a solid statement of facts.

Aren't the SCCA autocross championships held in Nebraska? (Or some other equally flat state in the middle of the country?)

The Runoffs were at Heartland Park, Topeka Kansas. Moved there from Mid-Ohio I believe. Or was it Road America? I think they are going back to Elkhart Lake now.

And yet no pics of the mystery girl that you almost lost after having too much to drink?

Flieger 04-04-2012 08:53 PM

That was meant to be in green. :)

I'm absolutely sure you get more action than I do.

Svandamme! Nice ! Thank you for buying American! Now, Things that you need to do with this rifle. ( Besides fondle ) If it slides it needs GREASE. The exception is the gas piston. DO NOT MESS with the gas valve. If you move it it might cause short stroking. When you have only shot a few hundrerd rounds DO NOT take the action out of the stock when cleaning. Figure maybe every 1,000 rounds It will perserve lock up. When you clean your rifle clean it with the rifle upside down. This will keep solvents out of the gas system. Try to only buy Gennuine GI mags. Cheap mags will cause all kinds of feed/eject issues. That and keep it out of the hands of my eldest son. He "frenched" my twin to your rifle. I told him to move it AWAY from the edge of the shooting bench "Don't worry dad, I won't knock it ov,....er" KLANGK!

She's a bit like G in that she likes to not be on the internet, not on facebook or any of that jazz. Some people like to keep their anonymity. I respect that....

And yes, I am certain of that as well....

That's cool. I have facebook since it is useful for some things. I only joined in order to see Kundensport's photo album of their projects like the 917. I use it very little. This and the Early 911S Registry are the only places I really chat, though I do occasionally on flickr.

The funny thing is that my Mom's side of the family (which is most of my aunts and uncles since my Dad only has one sister) take relationships rather slowly. The men are very afraid of commitment and though they are settled down they are not married. My Mom's only sister, though went the opposite way and that branch of the family is, uh, a little turbulent. My cousin who is the same age as me is her grandchild  and is getting married this summer. Married?! At my age?

Unfortunately I do not see the marriage lasting very long, though I don't know her. They met at some burger joint where they both worked. He has a history of flunking school and bouncing around rough neighborhoods and between households. He did join ROTC and that straightened him out, so I will hope for the best.

But I definately take after my Mom's brothers.

Max, one of my best friends in HS got married at 18, and she had her first baby last year on my birthday, at 19....

Flieger 04-04-2012 09:26 PM

Crazy kids these days...

porsche4life 04-04-2012 09:27 PM

Thats actually pretty common around here. I have something like 6 friends getting married this year or next..... And I expect that number to rise....

Flieger 04-04-2012 09:28 PM

I should clarify, I have no trouble with commitment, I just don't really have any serious interest in relationships that I know will not work out in the long run. I'd rather wait for "The One".

porsche4life 04-04-2012 09:30 PM

I used to say that, but I'm starting to think, whats so wrong with it not being forever, if it makes you happy? I mean would you rather be with someone and be happy for a few years, than live those few years alone?

Remember Max, you are more likely to regret the things that you DIDN'T do...

You see, I would want to have a good job and home/place of living firmly established before I make the commitment to get married. And also enjoy a few years of just living on my own after school.

I've done the living totally alone thing for 2 years now... Its not all its cracked up to be....

That's deep. 'tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, methinks.

I want a meaningful relationship, not just physical. Someone whom I can really form a bond with. If it does not work out for unforseen reasons that is fine, but I wouldn't start a relationship knowing that it was just for some quick fun.

Yeah, but you're in Oklahoma. :p

I'll have a hot rod 911 to tear around the canyons in. :)

I prefer to be alone over the feeling of rejection, but constantly thinking of what might have been would drive me mad.

My whole life I have tended to prefer being alone among my peers- and doing lab reports alone for the most part. It's really not that bad. There is a lot that is nice about it. I still have a few good friends like my Dad, though. So I am not totally alone.

It is great because I can pour all my time into my passions for cars, bikes, outdoors, whatever. It is only when I have a break between those projects or activities that I feel the lonliness.

porsche4life 04-04-2012 09:48 PM

I work alone on most things as well, and I do usually prefer it. But when you find someone that you truly enjoy spending time with, doing anything, you realize that the working alone isn't what you really enjoy, you just enjoyed being able to do what you do with no distractions. If you enjoy being with that person, they aren't a distraction.

I would suggest finding someone that is adventurous like yourself, and willing to at least try your hobbies. My first serious gf had no interest in cars, and that put a major damper on things.... I'm doing much better this time around.

Also find someone that you can learn from, but that is willing to learn from you as well. When you are learning from each other, is when you will discover the most about each other, no matter what you are doing.

And most importantly, find someone that you love spending time with. I'm talking can be together literally nonstop and not get tired of them.
