We always hated the testing of the siren on Sunday mornings.

I took a geology class a year ago since I am "into" nature and geology and stuff. It was very interesting and I learned a lot about the local geology and the geological history of California.

It was cool to learn about that fault across the valley from CPSLO and also how the "9 sisters" came to exist in SLO/Morro Bay.

I have not heard a siren test in the >3 years I have been here. I guess they stopped doing that.

On the day of the big Japan earthquake I had ridden my bike up to the top of one of the taller hills around and was looking out at Morro Bay and the estuary. The water was all the way covering the estuary grass like a really high tide. I did not really notice that as unusual until I got back and heard about the earthquake and that the tsunami had struck Morro Bay at the same time I was up there. About 9:30 AM. It was only a few feet high but it moved some boats around and there were videos on Youtube. They did some evacuations for a while.

I guess I scared Sid away. Or else he has nothing interesting to post. ;)

I wish.

No, just some random pic Yahoo! showed me.

I'm not very active with the random hot chick picture postings as I share a computer with Mrs. Noah.

These two boulders are fun to climb on. You can usually find a few kids bouldering there.

Ah, that's right. There were a couple cars in between the two in front and French. Cars that French disposed of as the race went on.

Even more than that - The 9 started in 22nd or 23rd !

Sorry, I don't recognize the location.

What, dare I ask, is "bouldering"?

Ah, so you don't want to be Markus'd.

The mine entrance was by one of the two red dots. I forget.... I'd have to hike up there again.

I guess we should just transfer the panty, chest, and legs threads over here.

I am not much for hiking anymore. I used to be really into it but then my knees finally put a stop to that. Bad genes.

Now I ride my bike everywhere.

I should get a mountainbike and learn to be more comfortable on loose surfaces.

Flieger 11-04-2011 07:08 PM

There is a lot of rocky outcrops to choose from around here. The only big boulder I know of (if you could call is a boulder since it is the size of a house) is about 2/3 of the way to the Morro Bay city limits when you take the 1/Santa Rosa.

Flieger 11-04-2011 07:10 PM

When you get your license Dave you can come up here and we will go find the mine.

slodave 11-04-2011 07:12 PM

Further up the same mountain.. Great rocks to climb. We used to climb at the red dot. No ropes needed, but still challenging to get to the top.

I'm up for it. Even with my worn out knees. ;)
