work new years day?
you could try telling him you plan on getting blasted tonight but would be happy to have the cab drop you off at work in the morning in stead of home. Besides taking a few phone calls, I haven't worked since Dec 18th. if you don't call renovating work. time to do some painting in the room where I just finished all the wood panelling. Wife painted most of it before she left for home and I just have to do the last bit.

well that's too bad. you'll have to drop by and take a look at the new place next time you come up.
I'm heading home now. we are hosting the anual neighbours new years dinner this year and my wife has been home getting everything ready alone (I've been working too - there's not even a couch in this house yet). I am a flat rate employee, so no holiday pay, no overtime, nothing. And no we are frigging dead. I will do more work on Peggy today than anything.
I am sure my boss has no idea how mad I am right now, I doubt he would survive looking at me the wrong way right now. I am to the point where I don't care about the consequences of my actions. I have attained a level of pissed off that I have not seen in years. This will not end well.
